Overview

The Sesame – Green Jobs Uganda (SGU) Project aimed to improve the quality of life in Lira District by strengthening the green economy, promoting sustainable consumption, and creating organic business opportunities for youth. The project targeted youth sesame farmers, MSMEs, and rural enterprises, with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), financial institutions, and local governments.

PDCC Limited conducted the Final Evaluation, applying a mixed-methods approach that assessed the project’s relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. The evaluation gathered insights from 396 respondents, including beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, farmer groups, Plan International staff, district and sub-county officials, and private sector partners.

  3. Build inclusive participation of youth in the sustainable green economy.
